About SCWC

At Stark County Women’s Clinic, we recognize that a woman has special health concerns not only during pregnancy and childbirth, but throughout her adult life. Our goal is to fulfill these needs with the finest care that modern medicine and skilled, compassionate professionals can deliver.

About our practice

We are a private group practice comprising physicians, nurse practitioners and other professionals, all with specialized education, certification and experience in obstetrics and gynecology (the medical specialties dealing with pregnancy, childbirth and the female reproductive system).

Our Clinic was established in 1953 and currently has nine full-time OB/GYNs on staff– all board certified.

So in addition to being the oldest and largest private medical practice of our type in Stark County, we are one of the most experienced, highly qualified OB/GYN groups in Ohio.

Choosing your doctor

Patients always have complete freedom to see the doctor of their choice at our clinic. And you may elect to change doctors at any time, or to see a particular doctor for different health concerns. Your preferences are important to us.

No other private medical practice serving our area combines more specialized knowledge or advanced techniques in all areas of obstetrical/gynecological care.

Your opinion counts

We welcome your comments and suggestions at any time. Your doctor will be glad to take whatever time is necessary to answer your questions.

Emergencies

If you develop a medical emergency, call 330-493-0313. Immediate arrangements will be made for you to be seen. Always call our office before going to the hospital.

Obstetrics

Obstetrical care at Stark County Women’s Clinic includes not only medical attention, but educational and emotional support as well. Specially trained nurse practitioners work hand-in-hand with our doctors and patients through every phase of prenatal care.

Normal pregnancies involve a monthly visit for the first six months and more frequent visits during the last three months. High-risk pregnancies require more intensive monitoring and more frequent visits.

With a doctor on call in the hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week, you may rest assured that one of our physicians will be with you during active labor – monitoring you and your baby every step of the way.

Gynecology

Gynecological care involves all other medical and surgical problems of female patients, including infertility, family planning, menstrual disorders, and cancer prevention. We recommend an annual gynecological examination, a Pap test, and periodic mammogram as a vital part of maintaining your health.

Our team approach provides excellent care for both emergencies and special health concerns. Patients benefit from the availability of an immediate second opinion, and one or more members of our group are qualified specialists in gynecological surgery, special risk obstetrics, infertility and endocrinology.

Medical records & confidentiality

Please refer to our notice of privacy practices.

Fees and payments

We believe our fees are reasonable and comparable to those charged by other physicians in this area specializing in obstetrics and gynecology.

Office visits are to be paid at the time of service unless other arrangements are made.

We are pleased to assist you in filing for insurance claims, but have no control over exclusions or limitations of your coverage. Final responsibility for payment of all charges rests with the patient.

Hospital and anesthesiology fees are separate from our medical fees, and can best be determined by consulting the business office and anesthesiology department at Aultman Hospital.

Urogynecology

Urogynecological care addresses conditions that affect a woman’s bladder and pelvis, including prolapse (dropped bladder), loss of bladder control, and difficulty urinating. Our urogynecological team offers expertise in treatment options that include a variety of non-surgical therapies designed to relieve symptoms.

Mammography and bone densitometry

Our mammography department is ACR and FDA accredited and utilizes state-of-the-art equipment. Services include screening and diagnostic mammography for early breast cancer detection. Bone densitometry studies for early detection and treatment of osteoporosis are also done. Only registered, highly trained technologists perform mammography and bone densitometry studies. The mammograms are interpreted by radiologists with specialized training in mammography.

Insurance & third-party payments

Always bring in a completed, signed insurance form. Our staff will be happy to assist you in filing your claims.

Confusion can be avoided by reviewing your coverage with our insurance department early in your pregnancy or before surgery is scheduled. Please bring appropriate insurance information to the office with you.

Stark County Women’s Clinic accepts Medicare assignments and participates in various HMOs and PPOs in the area. Our insurance department can answer your questions regarding participation in these plans.
